After last year's resounding success at Ladies Day, Northam Races, Brian organsided a return visit.
Though our numbers were down, the 7 of us that went had an amazing day as most turned up in costume...the theme this year....80's Style...!!
We can all remember those days, mullets, afro's, minis, leg warmers...maybe the other patrons at the racetrack didn't remember as we all got a few, loooooooong, strange looks!!
The weather was much kinder to us this year (you might remember the pics from last year of the 'Slipper Brigade'!!)
Instead of taking a plate this year, we opted for the 'High Tea' which consisted of an assortment of nibbles and sweets and it was all washed down with copious quantities of Jacobs Creek (one of the sponsors for the day).
The bets were on fast and furious during the day, and the action around the fillys was fierce (not necessarily the four legged fillys!!). Some of us placed bets and I think those horses are still running!
Look out for next year, we are looking to do the Northam Cup Race Round in the end of October. Thanks to our skippers on the day and to Brian for organising another great event.
