Well what a night and what a way to start Christmas week ! Twenty two people came and stayed, and stayed and stayed ! (Didn't they Brian, Caroline and Steve).
Was it the the inexpensive drinks, the wonderful setting, the enjoyable music, the great BBQ or the exceptional quality of the people who attended ? Upon reflection, I would have to say : "all of the above". But suffice to say, faced with such a success and overwhelming demand, a "Sunday Night at Maylands" will become a monthly feature during Summer, (so check calendar for dates).
Perhaps the most satisfying part of Sunday's function was the number of new or first time attendees. By my reckoning, (and that could be fuzzy), we had 10 first time or very new people.
So to Naomi, Grant, Christine, Jenni, Dave, Kaye, Linda, Joan, Brian and Bridget we welcome you and hope that you feel encouraged to attend more functions in the future and perhaps even bring some friends of yours as well.
If by chance I have missed someone out, got a name wrong or misspelt any, please approach me at the next function and help train my poor memory over a drink or two.
Finally, the real success of the night was the way the new people were welcomed and everyone seemed to intermingle and interact. It only makes me look forward to January's event even more.
