HOT! HOT! HOT! is a good way describe the start to our day.
Sorry NO photos to share as the heat melted the camera :-) and the opportunity :-(.
Karen lobbed on my door step and we headed for the meeting place of "Bunning's on Haynes" and met up with new members Julie, Grant and Rodger, then was quickly joined by Gary & Sue celebrating their 25th Wedding Anniversary in the hill on the same weekend, they joined us for our jaunt around the markets.
We unanimously adjourned for a quick coffee at the Merchant Coffee Shop and then agreed to meet back at the Historic Kalamunda Hotel at noon for lunch as it would be cooler than having a BBQ and would have cold drinks on tap on demand!!
With the group all on different agenda for gifts ideas everyone decided to wander at their own pace and explore the many and varied crafts, trinkets, art, jewellery, fruit, vege and anything else you could think of was on sale throughout the markets.
Kalamunda Markets on this occasion had spilled over into Baker Street closing it to any through traffic and adding effectively another 30 new stalls to peruse, wow it was a very busy day and a really buzzing carnival atmosphere.
With our feet sticking to the hot pavement if we stop and now most gifts sorted very quickly, we then had a steady migration of members heading for the Pub and a much needed coldie.
We regrouped and met up with Nina who came up for lunch.
We ordered a wonderful counter lunch while enjoying the cricket on the big screen before we called it a day and headed towards home mid afternoon.
It was a very relaxing and very social day despite the heat it was a day enjoyed by our members new and old alike. Thanks to those who attended, see you all again soon. Deb
(Thanks to Deb for the blurb and organising the event and welcome to news members Julie, Grant and Roger)
