The Big Hoo Haa Comedy Night at the Brisbane Hotel...
To all those that couldn't come, when we organise to re-visit the venue, drop everything you have planned and come along! Yes, it was that funny!!
We all decided to have a light meal at the Chinese/Burmese/Thai restuarant up the road (sorry forgot the name), but the food was well priced, staff very helpful and the satay sticks and curry got rave reviews!
A short walk a couple of doors down lead us to the Brisbane Hotel where we ventured up the steepest staircase (well it is steep when your in heels carrying a couple of pints in your hands!) to Lazy Susan's Comedy Den.
We entered a long narrow room which seats 80 people, the lights dim and you are definately not prepared for what awaits you!
Two teams of comedians (slightly biased to the male gender 5:1...get up on stage to face a night of 'improvised' comedy.
Changing words to songs, mime, witty one liners...it was all there!
All this with full audience participation when you yell out names/themes/job titles etc and these amazing comics try to make something from one word without loosing momentum...
then we had to vote for either the Hearts or Bones team after the skits,
the team with the most points wins the night's trophy.
When the mahem and madness finished we all wandered into the Brisbane's beer garden. A great venue mainly full of young club goers priming up before the night life of Northbridge picks up. But there are massive water features, palm trees, umbrellas etc and a great place to have a drink or three and re-live the fun of the night...
Thanks to Sherry for a funny night out and to Joe for organising some of the on-line tickets and welcome to new members Rosa and Anastacia.
