Well the group sure can't be accused of running bland events!!
Here's one with a diference - 'The Wine Master' wine tasting event.
Above is a pic of the bottles tasted, sounds easy, get them in the right order...
but the twist was they had to be in the order of cost on the day that Mark bought them!!
(and don't worry, he even had the receipt in a 'wax' sealed envelope for proof!!)
Note Mark's drink holser above....do you think he has done this once or twice before??
As the night started we tasted a range of white wines, each person adding comments to their own scoresheet.
Mmmm, looking like a bunch of professional tasters??
Don't think so!!!
Mark gave us a run down on each of the wines before tasting, this included a sherry to start, then a bubbly, sweet, dry whtes, range of reds, which finished with port and schnapps (the definate favourite of the night!!)
Dinner was served between whites and reds. As always, we never go hungry, thanks to everyone that helped out on the night.
As the score cards were tallied we had a draw between Jeanette and Brian.
As with all self respecting 'draws' the only way to pick the winner is with the well respected option of
'Paper, scissors, rock', well this turned out to be quite a laugh for everyone, most of all J and B!!!

As you can see by the 'Trophy Kissing' above, Brian took out the title of
'WineMaster' for 2010....well done to both Jeanette and Brian!!
As with all our events the food was plentiful and it a great time was had by all.
Thanks go to Mark for organising a successful event which also raised some funds for the Burmese Orphanage that Caroline helps, thanks to Karen for opening up her home again and welcome to new member Judy.
