Karaoke Night at Hotel Northbridge - Friday 7th January, 2011

Julie and Sandra reported on hearing that a great night was had by all that came to the Northbridge

Hotel on Friday 7 Jan. John K brought 2 new members, Debbie and Dave and new member Jocelyn braved it and came alone who was greeted by Sandra and Julie at the door & was made to feel most welcome.

Julie invited others to join our group, so we stopped counting when we reached 15, some members were up dancing, at the bar chatting or singing along with the music. Sorry folks, we were all enjoying ourselves so much we didn't have time to take a picture !!! it was a very relaxed atmosphere put on by professionals, Groove Karaoke: http://www.groovekaraoke.com.au/gallery/index.php

Even shy Sandra got asked to get up a few times to dance by randoms ( as she calls them) who was taken aback at all the offers and then soon let her hair down when 'You shook me all night long' by AC/DC was sung and sung well too. Regular patron, Tony sang a David Bowie song, 'Starman' got a mighty applause, see here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OSLYplU8LIw&feature=related

New Member Dave, got up and sang for his first time and said he was looking forward to coming back again, he is a great guy ladies, single attractive, dances and sings what a great new member!!! Everyone was whistling and clapping so loud we thought the roof was going to come off. It was wonderful to see a new member feel so as ease with everthing.

Julie was the hostess with the mostess as she flitted from person to person to ensure they felt welcomed & comfortable. Julie and some other kicked on to the Ess Bar in Subi http://www.barsandnightclubs.com.au/perth/all/ess_bar (soon to be changed to the Village Bar) and then a night cap elsewhere, returning home well after 4am!!!

On hearing of this successful event by those that went, Julie and Sandra propose to host another Friday night at the Northbridge Hotel (located on the quieter side of northbridge too, so parking is no problem and free after 8pm) perhaps with a theme. So in the meantime for all those members who want to come next time, you now have plenty of time to practice up on your dancing, drinking, chatting skills or even singing to attend our next function at the Northbridge Hotel. Remember you don't need to get up and sing to come and enjoy yourself for Karaoke at the Northbridge, look forward to seeing more of you next month. Stay tuned folks and as they say 'watch this space'.

Thanks to Julie and Sandra for organising the event and to Sandra for writing such a fabulous piece for the blog!!
