It was a small but extremely good looking group of members that braved the hot weather to enjoy a picnic in Maylands.
This was the first time we had ventured to Bardon Park and it is unlikely to be the last.
As always the wine and beer went down easily, the picnic lunches were delicious and the conversation riveting. Especially discussion revolving around the new fangdangled fully automated American toilet located nearby. How does that self cleaning toilet seat work again Rob? Brrr, whizz up, sssspray, pop out, sit on wet seat!!
There was no bocce on hand but that doesn’t mean there weren’t games played throughout the day. Such as follow the leader, with no-one following the leader (yes, Brian spent time sitting with “all his friends” once again). And Janet and Tony/Phil’s game of “is that a set of keys in your pocket or are you just glad to see me?”
Sitting right beside the water meant we had ringside seats for the many yacht races happening throughout the afternoon. Except when the sea breeze really kicked in and our seats were nearly blown away. Ask Tony/Phil how soft the ground was.
All in all it was a wonderful day with the usual laughs and lots of fun.
Thankyou to those who attended.
(Thanks to Brian for organising the event and for writing the blurb)
