Beaufort Street Festival - Saturday 12th November 2011

Thank you Jenny for suggesting this event, it was certainly different and worth the effort to attend, Jenny and I met up at 12.15pm after a couple of phone calls we were then joined a little later by Darelle, Jenny S and Sherry.
Beaufort Street was a buzz of activity, entertainment, food, freebies and in general a carnival atmosphere.  We wandered up one side of the street sampling and tasting many food and street stall delights, spotting bargain’s in almost every shop.  Art displays dotted the sidewalk walls and many ally ways off Beaufort St, Wine Bars, Taverns and Hotels were all open for business and filled quickly.

There was seven stages scattered throughout the event and music was varied, from multi cultural, blues, folk, rock n roll, country and most artist were local and playing for the first time and general very entertaining.  Jenny S, Darelle and Sherry departed around 3.30pm to attend another function.  Jenny and I decided to keep wandering and checked out the opposite side on our return down Beaufort St.

Feeling like pack horses we returned to Jenny’s car to off load and then headed back to the action, more music, tasting of culinary delights, stumbling into a game of Bocce at the Queens Hotel Jenny nearly got bowled over J.
By day this event was definitely family orientated with plenty of children’s entertainment and activities, families were still there in the evening however there was lively adult atmosphere kick in after sunset which was light-hearted and fun.
Can highly recommend attending next year Jenny and I finally departed exhausted around 7.30pm and thoroughly enjoyed the festival.  A well run event.
