The group had two different functions on this weekend.
David Helfgott Concert - Mundaring Weir Amphitheatre:
Three of us went up the hill to this magnificent old pub that has the most amazing tiered amphitheatre within it's grounds. We chose the option to take our own picnic, which as always becomes a 'gourmet delight', the only condition is that the hotel asks you to buy drinks from their bar. Fair call, fair pricing compared to many concert venues in Perth.
David has a huge following in Perth, and it was his 24th year playing at Mundaring. An amazing pianist that has fought through advertisity to 'Shine' on stage. A lovely balmy evening followed by drinks at Mark's on the way home..
Lancaster Winery followed by drinks at Mark's:
A group of about 10 went to Lancaster Winery in the Swan Valley (opposite Margaret River Chocolate Factory - we all know where that is!!). A couple of times a year Lancasters open their doors for a wine tasting with food at a reasonable price, the evening starting around 5.30 with tasting and a couple of crabs for each person...stories of teeth ripping into the shells even BYO nutcrackers too!!! After the winery the group heading back to Mark's place for nibblies, drinks, fun and frovility!
Alas no photos, but it was a fun night held at a couple of different venues and great that we all met up in the end of the night. Really nice to see a new member put their hand up with an idea for a function, thanks Mark and also a big thankyou to Jeanette for helping to organise the night and everyone that went along.
